Celeste Epiphany Waite, Popularly known as Celeste is an American-born British singer and songwriter. She was born on the 5th of May 1994.
In 2019, she won both the Brit Award for Rising Star and the BBC Music Award for Introducing Artist of the Year, and was also named the number-one predicted breakthrough act in an annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2020. Since 2017, Celeste has released two extended plays and is expected to release her debut studio album Not Your Muse in 2021.
Celeste began her career in 2014 providing vocals for electronic producers such as Avicii, Tieks and Real Lies, while also self-publishing content onto SoundCloud on the side. In 2016, she made her solo debut via Lily Allen's vanity label Bank Holiday Records, where she released her debut EP The Milk & the Honey (2017). After catching the attention of labelmate Michael Kiwanuka, she signed to Polydor Records in 2018, where she released her second EP, Lately, in March 2019. Celeste rose to prominence with the singles "Strange", "Stop This Flame" and "A Little Love", all of which feature on Not Your Muse.
